About Us

Raftery Engineering is an independently owned and operated forensic engineering firm specializing in collision reconstruction, as well as investigation and reconstruction of other types of personal injury accidents.  It was founded by Barry Raftery in 1991, and has been providing services to the legal profession and the insurance industry across Canada and the United States of America (USA) since its inception.

Raftery Engineering has been retained to conduct independent engineering investigations and reconstructions on behalf of the Defence, and on behalf of the Plaintiff in civil actions.  (While the vast majority of our retainers relate to civil actions, we occasionally have been retained by criminal defence lawyers in cases where criminal charges have been laid.)

Our experts remain up to date in emerging technologies (such as photogrammetry, CDR data download and interpretation, video animations, and tribometry).  When required, the relevant technologies are used in the investigation phase, the reconstruction phase, the report-writing phase, and/or the court presentation phase of our involvement.
